I am a post-doctoral researcher in the Faculty of Education and Culture at Tampere University. My research interests include social interaction, student well-being, and learning in comprehensive school. In my research I study social support as a relational system and it’s relations to students’ study experiences including both positive and negative aspects of study wellbeing (i.e. study engagement and study burnout). Further, I focus in my study on students’ learning agency, it’s anatomy and construction in social interaction.

Currently my work is supported by The Finnish Cultural Foundation. I have been a part of the research projects “School matters. Towards a research based school development” and “Teachers’ Strategies Matter – Unknown Resource for Buffering School Differences in Student Learning and Well-being”. My dissertation based on the research project “Learning, Agency and Pedagogical Well-Being in Comprehensive School”.
